Presently serve on the Councils of the GARBC, IARBC & Baptist Mid-Missions

Family:
Married to Debbie Horton, 31 years and going strong!
Debbie loves to sing, keep the choir organized, is an excellent helper and hospitality coordinator both at home and church. She delights in reading (the end) of mystery novels, needlepoint and cross stitch, and dotes terribly on Victoria.
Three children, Elisabeth (husband Brian) Jeffords, Rebekah – 25, David A. – 23
1 beautiful granddaughter, Victoria Grace Jeffords (18 months)
Interests: all kinds of athletics; singing and playing the euphonium; reading; running; NY Yankees & Iowa Hawkeyes
Odd facts:
“I love to clean (got that from my Grandma Brown and Mom!), and love to read newspapers!”
“I own at least a dozen pair of running shoes.”
“No hair, but still handsome (well, at least I’m thin!).”
“The last non-theological book I read was John Lescroart’s Nothing But the Truth.
“I’m currently reading Why I Left the Christian Contemporary Music Movement by Dan Lucarini, The Love of God by John MacArthur, and Fallen Founder: The Life of Aaron Burr.
“Debbie & I were next door neighbors as teenagers. We didn’t start dating until college.”
“I love our little kids at church!”
Life Goal: to have as neat and nice a garage as my Dad’s!
Seriously…after 31 years of ministry to finish my course of pastoral ministry with strength, joy and increasing fruitfulness for Christ.

To preach and teach God’s Word faithfully.
To exalt Christ by genuine love for Him (and for our “neighbors”).

Assistant / Youth Pastor
Pete and Lara Walsworth serve as Associate Pastor and wife at Ankeny Baptist. They have served since July of 2000. Prior to serving at ABC they both attended
Education:
- 1999 – Pete completed a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from FBBC
- 1999 – Lara completed a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from FBBC
- 2006 – Pete completed a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from FBTS

- Married to Lara Short, 8 wonderful years!
- Lara enjoys caring for our home and family, serving in our church, scrapbooking, traveling and reading. She has recently taken to quilting with great gusto and no scrap of fabric is safe with her grasp.
- Our first baby, Silas Ian Walsworth, was born July 5, 2007. He is the greatest delight of our lives and a true blessing from God!
Interests: (things I enjoy but never get to do enough!)
- Athletics and exercise
- Being outdoors, backpacking, hiking, hunting and fishing
- Fighting fire, cheating death and saving lives
- The
- Spending time at home with my family
Odd facts:
- When I was a teenager I had to have rabies shots
- I am currently reading two books by Bill Hull and Undaunted Courage by Stephen Ambrose
- My favorite food in the world is Giordano’s Pizza
